TikTok has revealed a new collaboration with the electronic music festival Tomorrowland, which will allow the app to feature a variety of exclusive content during the event.
Tomorrowland organizes various music festivals across Europe, with its main event for 2025 scheduled to take place in Belgium next month.
During the festival, TikTok will facilitate live streams of performances, offer behind-the-scenes access, highlight collaborations between artists and creators, and much more.
According to TikTok:
"Tomorrowland 2025 will present a carefully selected lineup of internationally acclaimed DJs, innovative stage designs, and immersive storytelling. Through TikTok, users from around the globe will have the opportunity to experience the festival's enchantment with live streams of headline performances, creator-driven content, and a dedicated #Tomorrowland in-app hub that will serve as a comprehensive experience for fans worldwide to engage with the festival. Furthermore, CapCut and Tomorrowland will introduce an official template for all users to further amplify the festival's magic online."
Moreover, TikTok is also organizing a songwriting competition for aspiring electronic artists in conjunction with the event through its SoundOn music support initiative:
Artists from SoundOn and Tomorrowland Music will join forces to create, compose, and release original music that will serve as the soundtrack for activities occurring both on and off the TikTok platform throughout both weekends. The tracks will be performed live on stage at Tomorrowland and will be released and distributed by SoundOn.
Similar to all music genres, electronic artists have experienced considerable growth on TikTok, which has emerged as a vital distribution and promotional channel for their newest releases.
In fact, numerous record labels now regard the app as an essential tool for promotion and connection, while research released by TikTok earlier this year indicates that approximately 84% of songs that made it onto the Billboard Global 200 in 2024 first went viral on TikTok.
Moreover, Tomorrowland is especially popular on the platform. Posts featuring the #Tomorrowland hashtag have amassed over 10 billion views, and TikTok’s livestream of the Tomorrowland 2023 festival attracted more than 16 million viewers.
Consequently, this partnership could prove to be both valuable and engaging, aiding in the promotion of both Tomorrowland and TikTok among music enthusiasts.
